Once your event is created, it’s time to get your guests involved! Rekwest makes it incredibly easy for people to join your event and start requesting songs.
Below is everything you need to know about inviting guests to your event.
The Power of QR Code Invitations
Rekwest offers two types of QR codes to help you get maximum participation at your events: event-specific QR codes and reusable universal QR codes. Choose the option that works best for your needs.
Event-Specific QR Codes
Every event in Rekwest gets its own unique QR code that guests can scan to instantly access that specific event.
When guests scan an event-specific QR code, they are taken directly to that event page regardless of whether that event is upcoming, active, or has passed.
Reusable Universal QR Codes
Your reusable universal QR code is a single QR code you can use across all of your events. This intelligent QR code automatically directs guests to the right place based on your current event status:
- One active event: Guests are taken directly to that event
- Multiple active events: Guests see a list of your active events and can choose which one to join
- One upcoming event (no active events): Guests are taken directly to that upcoming event
- Multiple upcoming events (no active events): Guests see a list of your upcoming events to choose from
- No active or upcoming events: Guests are taken to your profile page
This QR code is ideal for:
- Regular performers at venues or clubs who want a consistent, memorable way for guests to find them
- DJs who perform frequently and want one QR code to promote across all marketing materials
- Professionals who want to print business cards, posters, or merch with a permanent QR code
How It Works
Your guests simply:
- Scan the QR code with their phone’s camera
- Get taken directly to your event page (or list of events) in their browser
- Start requesting songs immediately
That’s it! No app downloads, no account creation, no friction.
Getting Your QR Codes
Event-Specific QR Code
To access an individual event’s QR code:
- Go to your Event
- Click the QR Code icon button in the top right corner
- Share your QR code or download it as a poster
Reusable Universal QR Code
To access your universal QR code:
- Go to your Profile
- Click the three dots in the top right.
- Click “Universal QR code”.
- Share your QR code or download it as a poster
Multiple Poster Styles
Choose from various poster designs that fit your event’s theme:
- Elegant wedding styles for ceremonies and receptions
- Vibrant party themes for celebrations and birthdays
- Clean professional layouts for corporate events
- Club and DJ styles for nightlife venues
Print them, hang them on walls, display them on screens, or share them digitally - whatever works best for your venue!
No App Required
One of Rekwest’s biggest advantages is the zero friction experience for your guests:

While QR codes are the most popular method, you have other options:
Direct Link Sharing
Every event also has a direct web link you can share:
- Tap the ellipsis menu in the top right corner of your event
- Click Share
- Share it with whomever you want

Strategic QR Code Placement
- At the entrance - catch guests as they arrive
- Near the bar - capture people during downtime
- On tables - for seated events like weddings or dinners
- On stage/DJ booth - visible from the dance floor
- In restrooms - surprisingly effective for captive audience
Announce It
Don’t just rely on the QR code - actively promote it:
- Make an announcement when the event starts
- Mention it between songs - “Scan the QR code to request your favorites!”
- Have staff or friends help spread the word
- Post on social media during or before the event
