Monetize Your Song Requests

Monetize Your Song Requests

Turn song requests into an additional revenue stream by enabling optional donations. Guests can attach tips to their requests, creating earnings while enhancing engagement at your events.

Below is everything you need to know about setting up and managing song request donations.

How Request Donations Work

Instead of just collecting song requests, you can allow guests to attach optional donations to show appreciation for having their favorites played. Guests authorize payment upfront, but are only charged when you accept their request, ensuring a fair and transparent process.

The Donation Process

  1. Guest makes a request - They select a song and choose to add an optional donation.
  2. Payment authorization - The guest immediately authorizes the payment, which reserves the funds on their card or payment provider without charging them.
  3. You review the request - The request appears in your pending tab just like any other, with the donation amount visible.
  4. Accept or decline - When you accept the request, the guest is charged the donation amount. If you decline or don’t respond within a few days, the reservation is removed and the guest isn’t charged.
  5. You receive funds - Earnings are securely processed through our payment provider, Stripe, and transferred to you within 7 days.

Guest Experience

Adding Donations to Requests

When donations are enabled, guests will see:

  • Song selection - Choose their requested track as normal
  • Optional donation field - Specify an amount to donate
  • Payment authorization - Authorize the payment immediately, which reserves funds without charging
  • Submit request - The request is submitted and appears in your pending tab

The guest’s card is only charged if you accept their request. If you decline or don’t respond within a few days, the authorization is cancelled automatically.
